Nadeshicon is born of hope, commitment and passion of a few otakus. This is a convention organised by fans for fans.
Nadeshicon started with a dinner and a cultural day at the Club Anime Quebec. Participation was free of charge, and this day was the prologue of what would become the Nadeshicon festival one year later. A committee was mandated by the Anime Club Quebec to organise a convection following these main goals :
- To take place at Laval University,
- with 50% anime and 50% culture,
- that is family-friendly and accessible,
- and that is affordable.
The tickets, at $20 each (free for children under 12 years old), make it possible for families to visit the convention without breaking the bank. Theotakus can spend more money in the merchant room, which is always a great success at each convention.
At Nadeshicon you’ll find:
- A masquerade
- A merchant and artists room
- Special guests
- Martial arts demonstrations
- Japanese food
- A singing contest, or idol
