An amusement park dedicated to the “One Piece” pirate manga and anime series has opened at Tokyo Tower to serve as a “pilgrimage destination” for fans of the franchise.
The Tokyo One Piece Tower takes up a renovated section of a commercial complex at the foot of the landmark tower in Minato Ward.
Attractions include rooms modeled after various sections of Luffy and his friends’ pirate ship, Thousand Sunny, as well as a casino house where visitors can gamble with popular character Nami using fictional currency from Eiichiro Oda’s manga.
The indoor park, which opened March 13, is certain to become a must-visit place for any “One Piece” fan.
The manga series topped 300 million copies in print in Japan last year, and it has also gained followings in Europe, the United States and around Asia.
